Project Feature: North Klondike IPP
In 2020, Solvest developed and constructed a 1.7 MW solar plant, marking the first Independent Power Producer (IPP) agreement for an on-grid renewable energy project in the Yukon and the largest system ever connected to the territorial grid. The array generates approximately 1.84 GWh of clean electricity annually, equivalent to the energy consumption of about 153 Yukon homes each year. Beyond supplying reliable renewable power, the project demonstrates the economic and technical viability of solar energy in northern climates helping to pave the way for expanded renewable development across the Yukon and northern Canada.
Location: Klondike, Yukon
