Solvest constructed a containerized 200 kWh energy storage unit including batteries, inverters, and controls in Whitehorse prior to transportation to site on the 2025 winter road, which is only open for a few weeks each year. The power system is expected to save 51,000 litres of diesel per year, equivalent to 138 tonnes of CO2 emissions. This is the largest mine camp renewable power project in Canada. Tlicho Investment Corporation received grant funding to purchase the assets and will lease them to STLLR.
