Project Feature: Coffee Gold Renewable Power Feasibility Study
Client: Newmont
Project Completion: 2023
As part of this study, Solvest designed and assessed multiple configurations of a hybrid renewable power system comprised of solar power, batteries and diesel generators with the goal to reduce the planned 100% diesel power at the remote Coffee Gold Project, owned by Newmont – the world’s largest gold company. The study considered site constraints, maximizing diesel and carbon reductions and minimizing net present cost and levelized cost of energy over the expected mine life under various future scenarios of changing diesel prices and carbon tax prices. The Coffee project was in process of environmental permitting before it can proceed to construction.
Location: Coffee Gold Project, Yukon
