In August 2022, the first solar + battery project at a mining project was completed, and more significantly was purchased by the mine’s First Nation partner and leased back to the mining company, removing the need for Snowline to provide the upfront capital to purchase the power system. Solvest designed a custom racking solution for heli-portable battery and electrical equipment, as well as facilitating the transportation of all equipment via helicopter to the remote 45-person exploration camp. The power system targets reducing camp power diesel use by 80%, resulting in 12,500 litres of fuel savings per exploration season.
Location: Rogue Gold Project, Yukon
System Size: Heli-portable 27kW DC Solar + 100 kWh Battery
