Project Feature: Klondike Development Organization
In 2021, Solvest worked with the Klondike Development Organization (KDO), a non-profit group, to design and construct a 309.8 kW Independent Power Producer (IPP) on Dome Road. The site, a transformed former landfill, now features 704 solar modules arranged in six south-facing rows. These modules began harnessing spring sunshine early in 2022, significantly offsetting generator use during the shoulder seasons in Dawson City. Annually, the array is expected to produce 280 MWh of energy, equivalent to the power needs of 25 Yukon homes. Profits generated will be reinvested in more community projects.
Location: Dawson City, Yukon
