Project Feature: Northern Lights Resort & Spa
Northern Lights Resort and Spa is a multi-award winning Yukon Special, located on the outskirts of city limits. Guests are provided with the true northern experience: Expansive land, accessibility to activities including snowmobiling and snowshoeing, a taste of wilderness, and the most alluring; stunning views of the northern lights.
In 2020, Solvest installed a 27.84kW ground mount system comprising 64 solar modules. This stunning system sees an annual average production of 27,852kWh, offsetting roughly 48% of the resort’s annual energy consumption (57,740kWh).
The owners have expressed future plans to incorporate more solar energy and battery energy storage solutions (BESS) into their operations. The current and aggregate system production is displayed on a large screen for guests to view as soon as they enter the main lodge. The owners say guests from all over the world are very interested in their renewable energy system.
